Machine Learning Discussion Group

The Machine Learning Discussion Group (MLDG) is intended to provide a platform to present and discuss the latest ideas from people in Cambridge and outside, as well as to learn state-of-the-art techniques. We hope to foster a very informal atmosphere, part talking shop, part journal club, part tutorial, etc. It generally meets at 16:30 on alternate Mondays.

Each discussion group session will consist of two presentations each lasting 25 minutes (2×25 min). We want to emphasize that you don’t have to present polished work at the MLDG. If you want to present something that is in progress, or even in an early stage, that is perfectly fine. If you want to seek some advice or elicit some discussion for a problem, that is fine too. If you want to present an interesting piece of work that you saw, that is also great.

The venue is at the Mott Seminar (531) room, top floor of the Mott Building, in the Cavendish Laboratory, West Cambridge. See the getting here page for a map. If you don’t have access to the building, please wait downstairs at the entrance at 16:15 pm or 16:25 pm and we will pick you up. Coffee/tea and biscuits will be served outside the seminar room starting 16:15 pm.

We have set up a talks.cam list. There is also a mailing list, to which you can subscribe with your CrsID.
